PRACTICAL ALCHEMY IN THIN PLACES

There is an old Celtic saying that goes, 

Heaven and Earth are only three feet apart, but in thin places that distance is even shorter. 

Thin places are a porous blend of this world and the Otherworld. They disorient us to lose our bearings and propel us into a concoction of mystic and mundane. Exploring thin places commands a courageous act of surrender and vulnerability. To shed old ways of seeing for new ones. Thin places are transitory in nature, a chance encounter that can pivot your worldviews entirely. Thin places are alchemical, appearing within and outside of us.

The concept of thin places along with the practice of alchemy has been driving my practice since late 2022. To summarize Minor White, I want to push the medium of photography to speak of spirit. Practical Alchemy in Thin Places, an encounter with magic & mysticism in the mundane, and a visual diary for my practice of alchemy.
